We had a great time on the Jolly Roger Pirate Cruise.
Well, there was no food and beer, however there was fruit punch for the kids, and RUM punch for the adults..... It was good - too good!
What fun is a "Pirate Cruise" without a few good looking pirates???
They spotted some shinny metal in Emily's mouth.... She is lucky they let her keep it!!
Time to clean the deck!
Saying the Pirate Oath.
As a parent, don't ever say "Because I said so" in front of these pirates..... I did and got tied up and cold water poured over my head. I guess if I had to get tied up, I couldn't have asked for nicer pirates to do it..... LOL
Two of the nice Pirates..... they were all nice!
Ben - jumping into the beautiful blue water.
Ben, Emily and Garrett
Garrett, up on top, ready to jump.....
1.... 2.... 3.... JUMP
Emily, Jeannie and Garrett - Did I mention the Rum Punch????? I had some.
Jeannie - yes I am holding my nose...... gotta do it.
The water was beautiful!

Grand Cayman
Garrett - Our Sleepy Head
Emily - Our Early Riser
Room Service - AGAIN!! Every day the table seemed more and more full!!
Up again - in time for the sunrise!
Jeannie and Emily - on the balcony, waiting for the sun to come out. It was a little bit windy.
The sun came out as we approached Grand Cayman Island. Several other cruise ships were there as well.
Emily Jeannie and Garrett Posing with the face Pirate...... We will see the real ones soon!
Jeannie - at the local coffee shop. "Daily Grind" I always like to test out different coffees. This was pretty good - I just got the regular coffee, nothing out of the ordinary.
This is our ship - The Jewel - from the port. The little boat is the fairy that took us to shore and back to the boat. And if i haven't mentioned it before, we were VIP. So one perk was a private elevator that took us to the gangway whenever we wanted - no waiting for our number to be called!
Oooohhh Margaritaville - looks like a place I might like to visit.
Well, that's it for now....... I will have to do another entry called Day 3 Part II. We had a lot of photos that day!!!
I admit - I am somewhat addicted to . I have been able to contact and catch up with hundreds of people from my past and my present - Kinda cool..... If you don't have an account, you should!!
01/17/2009
We had dinner at Epiphany - the balloon lady made a cool tree and monkey for Garrett. He also had a snake painted on his arm.
01/22/2009
The Coffee shop! I have been going there frequently! It is a great place to go with the girls and catch up. Jenny is my favorite coffee mate!
01/23/2009
Like father, like son. I think it is genetic..... Garrett was playing with some wood and a hammer - long story short, He ended up in the ER with one stitch and a tetanus shot. He is doing fine now, no need to worry!
01/24/2009
Keeping my toes looking good! (Priorities) my color of choice this month is OPI, "Your Villa or Mine". Love the names!!
01/24/09
Sequence - Family time with Kenny and Yvette. We enjoy getting together to play games - and eat too!! We had steak, broccoli, mac and cheese, cake and (my favorite) ice cream! Then we played Sequence. They guys won 4-2. Yvette, we will get 'em next time!
01/25/2009
Craft Fest Downtown - I think I had more fun browsing Venice Avenue!!! And of course, taking pictures of myself - hahaha. This is me on Venice Ave. I took Emily and one of her friends to the Craft Fair on Sunday. We had a great time. Lots of neat things - Do you realize how many people make jewelry these days????? WOW
01/25/2006
Look Mom - I am wearing the leopard print jacket. I love you! We sat out by the fire and Garrett and Ben cooked hot dogs. When it got too chilly, I had to go in and get my jacket/blanket. That didn't last long because I was soon in the house cooking a grilled cheese sandwich for Emily. That turned into laundry and cleaning...... How does that happen??? So, I was done with the fire for the night.
All these photos were taken with my cell phone - I have been using it to update facebook quite often. I seem to stay more up to date there than I do here......

Norwegian Jewel - Day at Sea
Beautiful Sunrise.
Enjoying my oatmeal on my balcony. I really enjoyed having Room Service in the morning so I didn't have to get up and get going right away. i always enjoy my "coffee" time!
Relaxing in the courtyard with my book. They weather was beautiful, always a light breeze!
Garrett - Spending time with mom in the courtyard. Any time he wanted he could go to the courtyard and get a cookie and juice. And I could get coffee!
Ben, taking a nap on one of the day beds in the courtyard. It was nice to have the privacy and knowing we never had to search for somewhere to relax. Plus, our accommodations were very plush. Did I ever mention we were VIP? Just in case --- we were VIP!
Writing in my journal - once again, in the courtyard (my favorite place on the ship). I was unable to journal the whole trip, there was way to much to write about. I think I made it to day #2.
Garrett - enjoying our view from our balcony.
Emily - ready for dinner.
Garrett - at dinner in the main restaurant.
Only on a cruise are you allowed to play with your food - he made a cute little monster with his potatoes and carrots.
Emily - at dinner.
Ben - at dinner.
Jeannie - at dinner.
Dessert
Our goodnight friend - the penguin.
We went to the late show. It was all 70's music. Very good show - even the kids enjoyed it.
Emily - after the show.
Garrett - after the show.
Loved this sign - Being the VIP that we were, we had a reserved area in the theater.
Bath time - I spent at least an hour in the tub reading while Ben and the kids watched a movie "The Dark Knight".
Ben and Garrett - watching a movie. There were movies playing around the clock - they liked being able to watch them and relax.
All tucked in, ready for bed - reading again - GREAT BOOK. If you notice, I am still quite close to the beginning......... I never get this much time to read at home. What a vacation - I can do anything I want, or nothing at all!

We just recently returned from an amazing cruise to Mexico. I want to share all the photos, but we all know that I take too many, so I am going to take the ones from each day that tell the story of how we spent our time..... there are still quite a few photos. I will be posting one day at a time, so check back frequently to see the other 5 days of our adventure! ~ Jeannie

Norwegian Jewel Port of Miami
Jeannie - on our balcony at the port of Miami, prior to sailing.
Emily - writing in her journal. Because the kids were missing school, they each had to keep a travel log to share with their class when the went back to school.
Ben and Emily - Enjoying the living area in our 2 bed, 2 bath Courtyard Villa.
Ben, Garrett and Emily - Enjoying the view of Miami from our Balcony.
Miami, Florida
This was our room. We were originally upgraded from a mini-suite to a penthouse suite for a small fee, however, we were pleasantly surprised to find out the night before the cruise that we had another free upgrade that put us in a courtyard villa on the VIP floor!
Private courtyard - this is only available to the guests staying in the VIP rooms. (I felt so special!)
Private Courtyard
This was a great place to read! Did I mention the courtyard was PRIVATE!!!??
Garrett - Both of the kids enjoyed the luxury of being able to go out to the courtyard anytime they wanted for a snack. There were always cookies or muffins, orange juice, water, tea, coffee, peanuts and gummie bears available!
Jeannie's Rum Punch at the Sailing away Party on the main pool deck.
Garrett - enjoying his Bar-B-Q at the sailing away party (right after this photo was taken, the wind caught his bread, butter and hamburger bun and it all ended up on the deck!)
Sunset - Beautiful!
Garrett and Ben - enjoying the private courtyard.
Every night we had a snack delivered to the room - we didn't ask for it, it just appeared. We had a great butler that was always leaving us treats!
Bath time. I fully enjoyed the bubble baths! The spa body wash, shampoo, conditioner and lotion was amazing. They housekeeper left me new bottles almost every day!
Jeannie - Ready for dinner.
Garrett and Emily at dinner. The Garden Cafe.
Jeannie, Ben, Emily and Garrett - at the Martini Bar. Ben and I enjoyed a martini while the kids had a refreshing root beer.
Every night we had a different animal made out of a towel. Day one was a snake (well at least the snake's head!)
I made Baked Beans for our Christmas Eve Dinner at my mom's house. Here is the e-mail that mom sent me the nest day.....
